TICheP – Innovative Technologies for personalized Chemotherapy
TICheP is a project that aims to develop an innovative technological frame-work for the development of personalized and low-toxicity chemotherapy, using ovarian cancer as a model, but with potential for extension to other types of tumors. In particular, the development of a fully automated system for the execution of pharmacological sensitivity tests to be performed on peritoneal carcinosis cells taken from the patient in order to evaluate the individual response to chemotherapy drugs is expected. This system, designed for use in standard hospital analysis laboratories, aims to offer doctors useful information to optimize the treatment path by identifying the most effective chemotherapy regimen for the patient under examination and highlighting genetic variants associated with any chemioresistenze.
