IRS is a partner in the SMARTIE project, a multi-RIR initiative aimed at developing inclusive and technologically advanced housing solutions designed to improve the independence and quality of life (QoL) of university students with motor, perceptual, visual, and hearing disabilities. The project is based on the principles of universal design, integrated with advanced assistive technologies—such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, home automation, and emotional robotics—to create inclusive, flexible, and adaptable environments.
